I needed a tripwire to alert salesfolks when clients were entering our outside showroom. This detector has a fairly narrow 'view', which I further narrowed, to a 1/4 inch slit with electrical tape. So configured, the device doesn't react to peripheral movement but does react when someone passes directly in front of it.
